In a recent initiative aimed at fostering global perspectives and personal development, forty students from Cognita Chile embarked on a comprehensive five-week exchange programme in the United Kingdom.

Whilst studying under the UK educational system, students participated in a variety of learning activities, promoting resilience, independence, and a global outlook through challenging projects and team-building. Visiting landmarks, monuments and cultural hubs in historic British cities, this enrichment experience went beyond academics, nurturing personal growth within an international framework.

Carolina Bergamasco, Director of Global Projects and Innovation Chile shares, “Culturally, the programme is a deep dive into the UK’s heritage, with students exploring historical sites and cultural landmarks, which enhances their understanding and appreciation of different perspectives. This not only broadens their worldviews but also fosters empathy and respect, crucial in today’s global society.”

Diego, a student from Colegio Manquecura Ñuñoa highlights that “It has been one of the most successful and truly magnificent experiences of my life. To be able to see the world from a new perspective, with new traditions and a different culture, has broadened my perspective on the world, showing me the interconnectedness of these nations.”

Exchange programmes are a key element of the holistic education we offer to students, greatly valued by our school communities for their role in nurturing agency, adaptability, and fostering positive attitudes. We are grateful to our UK schools and our partner Ardmore Language Schools for hosting these students affording them to experience this rich learning opportunity.
