Colleagues gather for sharing and collaboration at the Europe & USA Digital Leaders’ Conference
Matt Lovegrove, Digital Learning Advisor for Europe & USA, shares highlights from the Regional Digital Leaders’ Conference in January 2026.
On Tuesday 20 January, Cognita hosted its Europe & USA Digital Leaders’ Conference 2026, bringing together 36 digital leads from across our schools, alongside colleagues from across the wider organisation. Hosted by Pearson in London, the event focused on collaboration, professional dialogue and shared learning.
This year’s theme explored inclusion and the role digital technologies play in creating more equitable learning experiences.
The conference opened with a keynote from Sarah Reynolds, Director of Education for Europe and USA, who spoke about leadership and teaching for meaningful learning and sustained progress. Hannah Hamid, Regional Lead for Inclusion, followed with insights into inclusive learning design, equity, and how educational technologies can better support diverse learners.
Later in the day, Andy Perryer, Head of Digital Learning, explored the role of AI in adaptive teaching and learning, including how Flint AI can support more personalised learning experiences. Pearson then shared findings from their recent AI research, highlighting how technology is being used to reimagine traditional paper-based assessments.
The day concluded with Nathan O’Grady, EdTech Implementation Manager, who reflected on Cognita’s digital journey and outlined priorities for the next phase of development.
Thanks to Chris and Conall for sharing their reflections on the day itself:
“The Cognita Digital Leaders’ Conference was a great opportunity to connect with colleagues from across Europe. A day filled with inspiring messages about the future of technology in education and its impact on teaching and learning” – Chris Galley, Head of Digital at Southbank International School, Hampstead.
“Investment in our digital leaders is an investment in the future of our schools. The Digital Leaders’ Conference acts as a hub, connecting digital leaders across Europe and the USA with the deep expertise of the Cognita family. By focusing on strategic intent (the ‘why’) rather than just the tools (the ‘how’), we are securing a more mature and sustainable digital landscape for our schools. Ultimately, this ensures that technology is not just an add-on, but a meaningful bridge to better learning outcomes, enabling our students to thrive in a rapidly developing world.” – Conall Mac Loingsigh, Digital Learning Advisor Europe & USA
