Now in its second year, Cognita’s partnership with the world-leading Institute of Education (IOE) at University College London enables our educators to participate in a bespoke team fellowship programme, undertaking research in the area of metacognition and feedback.
Our school teams undertake projects linked to one or both of the following themes, which are core to personalising learning and have a high impact on student progress and agency:
Each Fellowship team engages with academics from the IOE who support the research and mentor the teachers. The IOE also provides a literature review at the commencement of the programme so that researchers can place their projects within the existing evidence and avoid duplication of work that has already been published.
There are four components to the programme – online workshops, in school work, cross-regional learning groups and termly tutorials – and research teams engage in all parts.
