Does social media have an impact on student wellbeing?

Many parents and teachers have concerns about the mental health and wellbeing of young people, particularly teenagers. There’s one big culprit that everybody shouts about which is social media.

But the question remains: does it really have an impact and, if it does, how can you address it with those young people?

Cognita’s Global Director of Wellbeing, Beth Kerr, and Author / Mental Health Campaigner, Hope Virgo, sat down with BBC Broadcaster Katie Derham at the 2019 Festival of Education to debate this topic.
