School leaders share best practice at Cognita’s Global Education Conference 2017

Sir Kevan Collins, Chair of Cognita's EAB, presenting at the Global Education Conference 2017

Our Global Education Conference is a real highlight in the Cognita calendar and this year was no exception, with dozens of interactive sessions delivered almost exclusively by our educational leaders themselves.

The 2017 conference was attended by Cognita school leaders from all over the world and centred on three key themes – educational leadership, personalised learning and character/metacognition – reflecting the key elements of the Cognita Education.

Headteachers from Cognita schools in Asia, Europe and Latin America shared their expertise on topics as wide-ranging as building inclusive classrooms, the role of outdoor education and developing character through student ambassadors.

Chris Jansen, Cognita’s Chief Executive, said: “We are a global group of hugely diverse schools and our educators have a tremendous range of experience and expertise. Bringing them together to focus on key educational areas and exchange practice means we can take the very best of Cognita and share it right across our group. This reflects our ongoing commitment to developing a global culture of professional sharing and learning. The end result is a more exciting, more globally informed, experience for the children in our schools.”

To conclude the 2017 conference, awards were presented to Cognita schools who have demonstrated exemplary performance, leadership and educational excellence in the last 12 months. You can view the full list of winners here.
