Polam School celebrates a superb Inspection result

Written by: Polam School

Polam School for children aged 12 months to 9 years has been judged ‘outstanding’ in the majority of its key areas by the School Inspection Service.

In a report published this week, inspectors found that Polam “provides an education of high quality for its pupils and is very successful in meeting its aims.  The School offers a highly productive learning environment, characterised by dynamic leadership, and a vibrant partnership between all parts of the community”.

According to the report, the school has made impressive progress since its last inspection, not least in the implementation of effective systems of assessment, an area for which Headteacher Pippa Villa, has recently achieved recognition, having been tasked with overseeing assessment in Cognita Schools across the UK.

Mrs Villa said “I am incredibly proud of all the children and staff.  We all know that we have a very special little school – Polam is a uniquely homely, caring environment where children thrive.  But it is wonderful to receive official recognition for what we do.  I am particularly pleased that the report recognises the positive impact made on raising standards – this is a real tribute to all the staff”.

The report also describes the strong sense of community at the School.  Parental support was found to be exceptionally high with parents expressing overwhelming appreciation of what the school offers their children. As one parent wrote in a recent satisfaction survey “The most important thing that Polam does is to nurture and help the children to be the best individuals they can.”
