Huddersfield Grammar School celebrates excellent GCSE results
Huddersfield Grammar announced today a remarkable 45% of GCSE grades awarded to its students this year were at A*- A grade, comfortably out-performing the national picture at 21.3%. 53% of the cohort achieved an A* or A in Mathematics.
Former Year 11 pupils, Francesca Kosmirak and Cecelia Wood both achieved a clean sweep across all subjects with ten A* grades each while fellow students Harriet Davey gained 8 A*s, Freddie Blake, 7 A*s, and Molly Acheson, 6 A*s.
Most pleasing was the display of strength in depth; for many students the results included additional qualifications in ICT and Further Maths and those pupils who only joined the school in Year 10 to commence GCSE study were also awarded impressive results.
Headmaster Tim Hoyle said “I am delighted with today’s results. They are a tribute to the hard work of students and the continued support and encouragement of parents and Huddersfield Grammar staff. We pride ourselves on securing the best outcomes for all of our students and ensuring that they overachieve”.
