European Day of Languages unites five Cognita schools
European Day of Languages is an annual event celebrating innovation in language learning and teaching. On 26th September 2017, five Cognita schools in the UK gathered together at Akeley Wood School for a languages event with a musical focus.
Students from North Bridge House School, Meoncross School, Hydesville Tower School, Huddersfield Grammar School and Akeley Wood School performed in different languages, ranging from ‘The Hungry Caterpillar’ in Spanish, to poetry in German and songs in French.
The winning school – Hydesville Tower School – was presented with a trophy provided by Cognita for their brilliant duet of Una Vez Mas.
As well as the chance to engage in the competition, the event offered students from different schools the opportunity to meet, spend time with one another and celebrate European Languages Day in a fun, challenging way.
