Colegio Europeo de Madrid joins the Cognita family

We are proud to announce that the Colegio Europeo de Madrid (CEM) in Spain has joined the Cognita family of schools. CEM becomes Cognita’s sixth school in Spain.
Colegio Europeo de Madrid was founded in 1991 as the natural continuation of the Infant Nursery, BEBIN, also part of the school. BEBIN was a pioneer school in Madrid of early childhood education (from 0 to 6 years of age).
CEM and BEBIN have 608 students, 62 teachers and assistants and 9 employees in the admin area.
The school’s facilities include modern laboratories, libraries, sports and arts facilities, radio and music rooms. In the “European Valley” digital laboratory, students work in teams looking for solutions to societal problems using technology. The aim of this space is to prepare children for the future and real life. They come to school not just to acquire knowledge but to think further and to work for a purpose.
A wide variety of extra-curricular activities are offered at CEM. These include chess, English, French, German, Chinese, Spanish, debating and Maths. Students can also apply and take part in the football, volleyball, basketball, skating, judo, fencing, gymnastics and dance teams.
The school also offers an integration programme for foreign students, including additional Spanish lessons should they need them.
