Cognita celebrates academic excellence with strong IB Diploma results
Cognita is celebrating outstanding International Baccalaureate (IB) examination results from the 2018 tests. Cognita schools achieved a 94 per cent average pass rate, significantly higher than the 78 per cent average pass rate for the Diploma Programme globally.
Between them, Cognita schools offer eight different curricula. Seven of our schools – in Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, the UK and Vietnam – offer the IB.
15 per cent of all Cognita students taking the IB examinations in 2018 achieved 40 or more points which places them in the top four to five per cent in the world. Of particular note are the three students from Southbank International School in the UK who recorded perfect scores, with a flawless 45 out of 45.
“We are very proud of the achievements of our IB students and wish to congratulate them on their success in these examinations,” says Chris Jansen, Cognita’s Chief Executive. “Preparing our young people for key exams like these is a core aspect of what a Cognita Education provides, alongside developing character and nurturing a global mindset. Together these three things give our young people genuine options and choices for success in the world.”
Students from International School Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam); St Andrews International School, Green Valley (Thailand); St Andrews International School, Sukhumvit 107 (Thailand); Stamford American International School (Singapore) and Southbank International School (UK) took the IB Diploma examinations in 2018.
