Cognita announces retirement of Group Chief Executive, Rees Withers, and appointment of Chris Jansen as successor
Cognita has announced the retirement of Rees Withers, Group Chief Executive, and the appointment of Chris Jansen to fill the role.
Chris will join the Group from 19th October 2015 and take over as Group Chief Executive Officer from 1st December. Rees will remain with Cognita until the end of the year to ensure a smooth transition.
Ralph Kugler, Chairman of Cognita, said: “The Board is hugely thankful to Rees for his enormous contribution in building Cognita from its foundation in 2004 into a global network of 66 schools in Europe, Asia and Latin America, all centred around educational excellence. His vision, his supportive and inspirational team leadership and his tireless energy in every part of the globe have contributed in a major way to the success of Cognita.
“In respect of his wish to retire, the Board has worked closely with Rees to identify a successor to build on his legacy.
“Chris Jansen has an impressive track record as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of major UK companies, and he is highly motivated to join Cognita, to build on Rees’s achievements and to realise our ambitious goals for Cognita going forward.”
