Celebrating Cognita educators on World Teachers’ Day

In partnership with Tes magazine, Cognita is marking World Teachers’ Day by hosting an evening debate in London on 5th October for leading educators.

The debate “Teacher status and wellbeing – what global lessons can be learned?” will be hosted at North Bridge House Senior School Canonbury in London, and is being chaired by Tes Head of Content Ed Dorrell.  Simon Camby, Director of Education for Cognita will be on the debate panel along with Mary Bousted, Joint General Secretary of the National Education Union, David Weston, Chief Executive of the Teacher Development Trust and Sam Freedman, Executive Director of Teach First.

Tes will be broadcasting the event via Facebook Live and teachers from around the world will be encouraged to take part in the activity by sending in comments and questions for the panel to address.

The debate starts at 19.15 BST and anybody wishing to pose a question through Facebook or Twitter should use the hashtag #WTD2017debate.

For those unable to watch on the night, a recording of the debate will be available on both the Cognita and the TES Facebook pages after the event.

Cognita will be further marking World Teachers’ Day by sharing a series of videos by our students across the world that celebrate our teachers. The films will be available to enjoy and share through the Cognita Facebook page from the morning of 5th October, with schools across the Cognita world posting and sharing their videos via their school Facebook pages and the #cognitaWTD.
