Brighton College (Singapore) reveals plan to open senior school
We are excited to announce plans to develop Brighton College (Singapore) – our partnership school with Brighton College – to become an all-through school to 18 years old, subject to obtaining the necessary regulatory approvals.
Since its foundation in 2020, Brighton College (Singapore) has grown steadily due to significant interest and demand from parents. Initially catering for pupils up to Year 4, the school now educates pupils up to Year 6 and has already secured permission to expand its provision to Year 8 (age 13) from August 2023. The addition of other year groups to Year 13 will come once approvals are received from the necessary bodies. These plans are part of Brighton College (Singapore)’s mission to create ‘A Brighton Future’ in the heart of Singapore, offering a full British curriculum from Pre-Prep all the way up to senior school.
Brighton College (Singapore) draws upon the strengths of Brighton College in the UK, established in 1845 and currently the Sunday Times UK School of the Decade, and Cognita, a world leading community of over 100 schools spanning 16 countries. The partnership involves Brighton College leading the educational philosophy, school ethos and curricula, while Cognita leads the day-to-day operation of the school.
Talking about these exciting plans, Frank Maassen, Group Chief Executive Officer of Cognita, said: “We are very proud to be working in partnership with Brighton College to expand the provision of a high-quality British Education at Brighton College (Singapore). The award-winning school has already proved to be a very popular choice and we look forward to being able to give parents the option for their children to continue their outstanding educational experience. This complements our successful American and Australian schools in Singapore.”
Andrew Noakes, Head Master of Brighton College (Singapore), added: “The children who come to Brighton College are given a British Education that instils in them the importance of being kind, confident and curious. After many inquiries from parents and clear demand for this offering, we are delighted to be able to bring ‘A Brighton Future’ to Singapore by enabling more children to experience the full benefits of a Brighton College education now, and in the future.”
Cognita is also partnering with Brighton College in the UK to launch Brighton College Prep Kensington in September 2023 at the existing Prince’s Gardens Prep School site in London.
