‘Best 100’ accolade for Cognita schools in Spain
Spanish national newspaper El Mundo has included The British School of Barcelona, El Limonar International School Murcia and Hastings School, Madrid, in its latest 100 Best Schools in Spain ranking and special report, published in March 2015. This is the third successive year that all three schools have been recognised by El Mundo as among the top 20 international schools in Spain.
El Mundo ranks schools with an overall score based on 27 specific criteria. Over 1,000 institutions are assessed in terms of their education as well facilities and resources. A large number of quality-assurance indicators are used, including the provision of an all-through education, recognition awards, quality standards, teaching staff, languages taught, co-curricular activities, ICT and science resources, sports facilities, medical service and school bus routes, among many others.
Commenting on this year’s El Mundo ranking, Rees Withers, Chief Executive of Cognita, says: “This is a fantastic endorsement of the high quality of teaching and learning in these schools, the efforts of staff and the excellent levels of achievement by students.”
