Cognita student in Asia wins 2017 Junior World Golf Championship
A Year 7 student from St Andrews International School, Green Valley in Thailand, part of the Cognita group, has won the 2017 Junior World Golf Championship in Jakarta.
Featuring 150 young golfers from 18 countries, Fifa Pongsapak Laopakdee ended the tournament with a score of two over par, five strokes better than the second place player in his age category.
“The Thailand support has been unbelievable. I really didn’t expect to win,” said Fifa. “Thank you so much to my family, St Andrews International School and everyone.”
At Cognita, we recognise the many benefits of competing on an international stage and strive to offer global opportunities to students in all of our schools. Congratulations, Fifa, on this exceptional achievement.
